Since its inception in 2000, the Meitav program provided motivated high school students with opportunities to study with Reform scholars, engage in intellectual conversation with each other and challenge themselves through social action and self reflection. Meitav touched the lives of numerous Reform Jewish teenagers, and many have already become the leaders of the next generation of our movement.

During Meitav’s eight years there have been tremendous changes in NFTY and the Union’s youth programs. The goals and values which were part of the original Meitav Fellowship are now instilled in every URJ Youth Division program. Through our NFTY-EIE High School in Israel, Mitzvah Corps hands-on social action programs and our year-round NFTY regional programming, we continue to provide engaging, exciting opportunities for learning and self exploration. NFTY’s Kutz Campus continues to be at the center of teen learning and is training the next leaders of our Reform Movement.

As we begin the next phase in our programming for highly-motivated Reform Jewish high school students, Meitav will no longer be offered in its current form. We will maintain programming for alumni of Meitav and this year, under the auspices of NFTY, we will provide a free series of serious, high-level, Jewish education opportunities aimed at highly motivated Reform Jewish high school students. More information is available at www.nfty.org/learning.

We recognize the power of the Meitav program which has proved to be a transformative and meaningful experience for participants and we look forward to the possibilities ahead.
